Users now have the flexibility to use the new SPOT X device to connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth wireless technology through the SPOT X app and to seamlessly send and receive satellite messages.
With the ability to access your smartphone contacts in the App, you can communicate easily with family, friends, co-workers or directly with Search & Rescue services in a life-threatening situation.
The app is available from the user’s mobile device app store.
If preferred or when necessary, SPOT X can be used as a standalone communication device.
Two-Way Communication with GEOS.
With SPOT X, users who are in a life threatening emergency receive confirmation of S.O.S. receipt, can communicate directly with GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center regarding their situation and be kept up to date on Search and Rescue timing for additional peace of mind during the rescue procedure.
SPOT X for Business: Lone workers can check-in and provide detailed status of their situation when working in the wilderness or at remote job sites. Head office can now reach out to employees who miss scheduled check-ins to ensure their safety.
MESSAGE: Exchange messages with any cell phone number or email address from beyond cellular coverage.
TRACKING: Select from 2½, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minute tracking intervals, and let family, friends and other adventurers follow your progress with SPOT’s easy-to-use Google Maps interface.
COMPASS: Built-in compass and programmable way-points to help you navigate. S.O.S. Send an S.O.S. to the 24/7 Search & Rescue center, message back and forth about the nature of your emergency, and receive confirmation when help is on the way.
